The Instruction to Make a Diaper Cake

The process to make a diaper cake is very lengthy and time-consuming. Hence, it is likely to be extremely tiresome and disappointing, if your diaper cake fails to meet your expectation levels.
First, you need to be aware of different requirements of a diaper cake. You will need:
1. 50-100 diapers (size 1 or 2)
2. Large rubber bands
3. Clear adhesive tape
4. A baby bottle
5. 1" wide ribbons
6. Baby items and toys such as a bib, stuff animal, socks and other baby ingredients you would like your diaper cake to have.
A person making a diaper cake for the first time is likely to make several mistakes. Hence, it is essential to consider the following diaper cake instructions.
Instructions for Making a Diaper Cake:
1. Roll the diapers lengthwise in an empty baby bottle, with their tabs tugged in.
2. Tighten a rubber band around the diapers to squeeze them.
3. Use a tape around all the tiers to secure and attach them to the cake platter.
4. Cover the rubber bands with colorful ribbons and fit the baby items in these ribbons.
5. Adding a topping over it would be an icing on the cake. Use items such as a rattle or a baby bottle to top the cake.
Instructions for Decorating the Diaper Cake:
1. You may use receiving blankets along with tapes and decorate baby bibs over these blankets.
2. Sometimes, it is preferable to select a particular theme such as floral, party, flashy, or elegant. You can then select such baby items for decoration, which suits your theme.
3. For creating beautiful borders, tug colorful flowers over each diaper tier.
4. If the theme is floral, remove the topping and use a bouquet of flowers instead. Arrange these flowers in a bouquet style inside the open baby bottle.

I know at the hospital I delivered & will deliver at, the nursery provides diapers & wipes. They also provide formula for formula-fed newborns, they come already prepared in a tiny bottle. Also, I don't think you would need shampoo. The hospital does the first bath, which you can attend if it is in your birth plan or you make your nurses aware of it. If your hospital does pictures, you'll want an outfit for that. I would pack a camera as well, just to capture memories-grab a disposable camera if you have to. You might want to add hairbrush, lotion, make up if you're the type who feels better w/makeup. (I'm sure there will be lots of pics taken too and we ALL look rough after child birth, lol)
